Emergency Dental Care Reviews
"Highly recommend Dental Express!! My wife needed an emergency wisdom tooth extraction because she was in so much pain, not only did they get her in within 4hrs, they also took amazing care of her. Dr. Jamie and his assistant Lindsey were amazing, and comforting! Rachel at the front was a doll and so so helpful, Shannon, and Whitney were also very friendly! Will definitely be returning to this location for all my future dental needs! Thanks you guys!! -Dena R."- D.R. / Yelp / Nov 09, 2018
"I broke my front teeth last night from a Bird electronic scooter accident and called around several dentists. Thankfully this place was open on this holiday weekend and was able to get me in for a 9:45am appointment when they opened at 9am. There was a bit of a wait after check-in and the x-rays, but Dr. Michelle fixed me up well. My insurance covered me for the accident so the bill came to be less than $100 out of pocket for me. So thankful for this office and the last minute availability. They even gave me a free T-shirt for being a first time patient."- M.J. / Yelp / Nov 24, 2018
"I was recently seen by Dr. Marabeh for a tooth that another dentist told me needed major work and most likely couldn't be saved. Not only did Dr Marabeh save my tooth, but his excellent work relieved me of my constant pain. He and his staff were very friendly, welcoming and professional. Dr Marabeh explained thoroughly the treatment plan that I needed and I was very impressed by his thoughtfulness regarding how to get he most work done with my dental benefits . I am looking forward to finishing my dental work w Dr Marabeh."- S.A. / Yelp / Dec 24, 2018
"3 weeks ago I cracked a tooth just 2 days before I was leaving town for my wedding. They were so accommodating and were able to get me in immediately on a weekend. Dr. Jamie? Was so professional and really put my fears of the dentist at ease. Went back yesterday to complete the follow up and the cashier (the blonde woman, can't remember her name) was so sweet and had even remembered from a 30 second interaction 3 weeks before that I went on a trip. She asked me how my vacation was and the check out process was painless. I couldn't believe how she had taken the time to remember and how nice she was! Everyone who works here is professional, warm and clean. This is my new go to dentist!"- A.R. / Yelp / Sep 24, 2017
"Dr. Rachel was the absolute best..I was in so much pain and she helped me quickly. She is kind, efficient and has a wonderfully calming manner. Roxy at the front desk is wonderful too! Hate the dentist usually but not with this team!"- K.L. / Yelp / May 07, 2019
Toothaches are possible for a variety of reasons. Visiting our office can help you rule out decay or infection as a possible cause. We are able to see you for the same day or walk-in appointment if you should find yourself unexpectedly experiencing discomfort.
BITTEN TONGUE OR CHEEK
If you bite your tongue, cheek, or lip, be sure to clean the area gently with water and apply a cold compress to help reduce any swelling. Visit our office or go to the emergency room.
First, locate the tooth. Then, gently rinse the tooth under running water if the tooth appears to be dirty. Please do not aggressively scrub the tooth or remove any tissue fragments. If you are able, try to re-insert the tooth and hold the tooth in place while you head to the dentist. Another option is to place your tooth in a cup of milk and bring it with you to the office. Timing can be very critical so try to get to the office right away.
If you crack your tooth, immediately rinse out your mouth with warm water. You may apply a cold compress to the face to help keep any swelling down. Be sure to visit our office as soon as possible for further treatment.
The best treatment for dental emergencies is prevention. To avoid having a dental emergency, be sure to follow precautions, such as wearing a mouth guard during sports and physical activities.
What To Expect
Each dental crisis is different so a member of our team will carefully evaluate your problem before a diagnosis during your consultation. X-rays may be required to check for additional issues. Once we understand the extent of your problem, we will discuss your treatment options.
Based on the severity of your dental emergency and the treatments provided, we will provide instructions to help you recover. We may write you a prescription for antibiotics or pain medication, which should be taken as directed. We will let you know if you should schedule a follow-up examination or an appointment for secondary treatment. After your dental emergency is treated, you may talk with a member of our team about ways to prevent future injuries, including a custom-made mouth guard to be worn while playing sports. You should maintain your daily oral care regimen with flossing and brushing to keep your gums and teeth strong and healthy. During your yearly dental exam at Dental Express San Diego, our team will continue to observe your healing progress.
If you have dental insurance, we'll contact your insurer to ascertain your benefits after we have established your treatment plan. For those without insurance, Dental Express San Diego accepts multiple payment methods and can help you find low-interest financing to make your care more affordable. Don't delay treating a dental crisis due to concerns over price because waiting may lead to bigger and more serious issues.
