You can think of porcelain veneers as strong, protective helmets for your teeth.
Porcelain veneers are a quick and minimally invasive way to improve your smile and conceal crooked, chipped, stained, or decayed teeth. Dental veneers are created out of porcelain and secured to the front of your teeth to improve your smile's overall look. Offering personalized and minimal-prep veneers, we can improve the size, color, length, or shape of your teeth. Make an appointment at one of our San Diego, CA offices to learn more about veneers and decide if they are right for your cosmetic goals.
"This place has been good so far. They are friendly and professional. Office is very clean and modern. Location is convenient if you are any where near point Loma. Ruben is an all-star extremely informative and has great communication, a pleasure to deal with. Dr Casey seems real down to earth and also easy to deal with. Overall my experience has been good and I would reccomend this spot."- J.F. / Google / Nov 13, 2019

"A big THANK YOU to the beautiful hardworking ladies at the downtown san diego office, i got an emergency filling in record time in a tooth that broke. They really take the weight off your shoulders in terms of "the fear of the dentist" and made it a quick and painless experience that I would recommend to anyone else who has dental needs, and a plus is that they take MEDI-CAL. They do a covid screening before making the appointment and before entering the building and everyone is pretty friendly. Thanks again!"- A.J. / Google / Dec 19, 2020
"It took me a long time to find a good and caring doctor as I have been developing a huge dentist phobia since childhood. That’s how I met Dr Michelle, a true professional. Very thoughtful, passionate, kind and understanding. Even though I moved from the area a year ago, and I tried to go see other places where I live now, I had to go back to Dr Michelle. The whole staff is totally amazing and professional.Recently I had my cleaning and as much as I felt anxious , I had an unforgettable experience with Paula, their new hygienist. She is truly one of the best experiences I had in a dentist office and I don’t have words to describe her. I felt so relaxed and no pain even though my teeth are very problematic and sensitive. When she finished I felt like crying out of happiness. She was unforgettable and I can’t wait to go back for my cleaning. As a person who dealt for a long time with this phobia, I found this place to be one of the only places where I felt relaxed. Even from the first time when I called and made an appointment and explained to them I have a huge phobia, I was recommended one of the best.I am very thankful for the whole staff, but Dr Michelle and Paula will forever have my heart! This is definitely a GO TO place and I will take the drive from La Jolla to Downtown as much as I need to!"- C.D. / Yelp / Dec 18, 2020
As with most cosmetic treatments, the right candidate has a healthy mouth. Lingering issues like cracked teeth or tartar build-up should be dealt with before considering getting porcelain veneers. If you struggle with bruxism (clenching or grinding your teeth), porcelain veneers might not be a good fit for you as they can chip or break. Talk with your dentist about a nighttime dental guard if you grind your teeth while you sleep.
Porcelain veneers may be used to quickly cover stains and chips in your teeth, improve worn down or misaligned teeth, and fix teeth that are abnormally shaped or spaced. At Dental Express, we customize your porcelain veneers to fit securely over your teeth for an appealing and natural look. At your consultation, our dentists will listen to your objectives and expectations to customize your procedure.
What To Expect
Porcelain veneer treatment usually takes place over two visits. The first visit is for the impressions of your teeth, and the second is the installation of your veneers. As soon as one of our dentists has developed your personalized treatment program, we will take physical or digital dental impressions. Over the next week or so, your cosmetic veneers will either be produced in our office or sent to a dental laboratory, where they’ll be made from high-quality porcelain material. When your porcelain veneers are ready, we’ll remove a little bit of enamel from the front of your teeth. This process creates room for the veneers and improves the bond for a more natural, long-lasting result. Porcelain veneers offer the added benefit of requiring less enamel to be removed than a cap or crown, which helps retain the strength of your teeth. When your porcelain veneers are secured, we will make small adjustments so that your veneers fit comfortably.
Since getting cosmetic veneers typically doesn’t require anesthesia, you usually can continue your daily activities after your appointment. You may experience some sensitivity to hot and cold meals for a couple of days, but this should subside naturally. You should clean your veneers just like your own natural teeth with daily brushing and flossing. While cosmetic veneers are stain-resistant compared to natural teeth, you should still stay away from staining drinks and foods to keep your smile bright. To prevent harming your veneers, you shouldn't chew on hard objects, such as ice or your fingernails. Your veneers may come loose with time, but this is completely normal. Continue to schedule dental examinations and cleanings at Dental Express so we can track the condition of your veneers, natural teeth, and overall oral health. Our team will tell you if your veneers need to be replaced or repaired.
Veneers are an elective procedure, so they're usually not included in dental insurance. Dental Express does take many payment options, such as low-interest medical financing, to make your treatment more affordable. During the consultation, our group will personalize your treatment plan to meet your goals and budget. We will go over an estimate for your veneers and explore your payment options.
Strong, durable, and hard to stain, porcelain veneers offer a natural-looking solution to worn down or decayed teeth. Enjoy the confidence of a beautiful smile with custom porcelain veneers at Dental Express. With an array of treatment options to satisfy your needs, we can help you quickly enhance the look of your smile with cosmetic veneers.
