Meet Your Dental Express Team

You could say Dr. Casey is the conductor of the Dental Express. After over a decade of practicing dentistry in the midwest, he brought his expertise to San Diego to fulfill his vision of creating an ethical, family-friendly, and patient-focused dental practice. When he’s not building beautiful smiles, he loves to play trivia with the family, golf with his 12-year-old son, and cook with his 8-year-old daughter. Dr. Casey also has a passion for aviation and has been a licensed pilot since college.

Dr. Marty is a local shining star at the Santee practice because of his passion for patient-centered dental care. In his free time, you can usually find Dr. Marty catching a few waves. In fact, “Surf is life” is his personal mantra, and he’s surfed just about every spot along the Pacific Coast Highway! Dr. Marty also loves serving his community and scouting for San Diego’s best tacos and donuts with his wife, Morgan, and baby boy, Arthur.

A veteran of Operation Desert Shield/Storm, Dr. Jamie spent almost ten years as a Sonar Technician in the Navy before pursuing his dentistry career. After multiple deployments aboard nuclear-powered submarines, he was honorably discharged and began his undergraduate schooling at San Diego State University. For his dental education, he attended one of the best dental schools in the nation, the University of the Pacific School of Dentistry. This valuable experience, combined with the compassion he shows for his patients, translates to healthy and happy smiles for everyone lucky enough to sit in his dentist chair. When he’s not helping patients, Dr. Jamie loves to barbeque for his wife, his three sons, and all his friends. On his days off, chances are you’ll find him behind the grill cooking up something delicious!

 Dr. Michelle’s dentistry career has taken her from the West Coast to the East Coast and back again. After graduating from UCLA School of Dentistry, she moved to New York to work at a trauma center where she saw mostly emergency patients. Once she completed her residency, Dr. Michelle realized she missed being able to build relationships with her patients. So, she returned to the Golden State to focus on family dentistry. Dr. Michelle has a passion for treating kids and loves trading silly jokes with them at the office. When she’s not brightening smiles, she loves going hiking and biking on the winding trails around San Diego with her husband and friends.

Believe it or not, Dr. Rachel was afraid of going to the dentist when she was young. When she left for college, she was worried that she wouldn’t keep up with her regular dental appointments without her parents making her go. So, she became a dentist to conquer her fear! Dr. Rachel takes a problem-solving approach when creating treatment plans for her patients. She carefully addresses their dental needs and history to build the right plan for their ideal smile. When she’s not creating smiles, Dr. Rachel loves going to concerts and hiking. She’s also a talented painter, and she loves creating portraits of her friends’ pets as gifts.

Dr. Kondo’s career has taken her all over the world, from university in Ohio to doing research in Kyoto, Japan. Wanting to pursue her passion to help people suffering from pain, she returned to the US to become a dentist – despite the initial protests of her parents! Dr. Kondo knows that many people have anxiety about visiting the dentist, so she aspires to make all of her patients’ experiences as comfortable and positive as possible. She works with her patients to develop individualized plans that best suit their personal needs and goals. When not at the office, Dr. Kondo enjoys trying new restaurants, catching up on her latest shows, and spending time with her husband and new baby boy.

Dr. Jenn traces the roots of her career back to a childhood fascination with dentistry. She values the central location of Dental Express Downtown, attracting a diverse clientele. Beyond dentistry, her love for the outdoors, fishing, hiking, and engaging in culinary pursuits with her daughters reflects her commitment to a balanced life. Driven by the core value of integrity, she highlights the importance of trust and honesty in the patient-provider relationship.

Throughout her career, she finds fulfillment in the continuous advancements in dental technology, allowing for better treatments with less chair time, while acknowledging the challenge of understanding each patient’s unique background and expectations.

Dr. Jerry embarked on a career in dentistry driven by a deep-seated passion for helping people and working with his hands. A graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University, he cherishes the sense of team camaraderie in his dental practice, emphasizing the collaborative spirit that defines the Dental Express team. Outside of dentistry, Dr. Jerry’s love for travel, especially with his kids, and engaging in activities like hiking and biking, reflects his commitment to a well-rounded lifestyle.

As a leader, he focuses on cultivating the growth of the Dental Express team, fostering a culture of mutual support and development. The highlight of his career lies in the gratification of helping people and witnessing their genuine appreciation. For Dr. Jerry, integrity stands out as the most valuable core value, recognizing its pivotal role in ensuring that things are done correctly.

Dr. Mays entered the field drawn by a personal revelation—a transformative experience with a female orthodontist when Dr. Mays was 13 years old. Graduating from dental school in Iraq in 2012, she requalified at the University of Southern California Dental School after moving to the United States seven years ago. Working in her Santee community, she finds satisfaction in serving neighbors, friends, and family.

Beyond dentistry, Dr. Mays is passionate about her two boys. She enjoys family activities, hiking, and sewing. Actively involved in cultivating the Dental Express team, she values weekly meetings enhancing cohesion between the team. Being part of the Dental Express family stands out as the highlight of her career, offering new perspectives and encouraging more complete patient care. Emphasizing adaptability among core values, she appreciates the team’s collaborative approach. Juggling the challenges of time management, she draws inspiration from her hero—her mother, a single, working mom who instilled values of authenticity, self-expression, and resilience.

Dr. Nasafi chose dentistry to blend science, medicine, and art for enhancing smiles and confidence. A graduate of NYU, she values the collaborative and supportive atmosphere within the Dental Express team, emphasizing teamwork’s positive impact. Outside work, she enjoys hiking, hot yoga, and time with her dog. Actively cultivating the team, she emphasizes clinical leadership and mutual support.

The highlight of her career is contributing to patients’ confident smiles. Emphasizing integrity and collaboration, her greatest challenge lies in meeting diverse patient needs. Inspired by her mother, who pursued a new degree in her 40s while raising four children, Dr. Nasafi showcases resilience and determination.

Dr. Le Murphey is passionate about dentistry. She enjoys the profession’s hands-on approach and the tangible and esthetic results it offers. She holds a degree from the University of the Pacific in San Francisco, where she valued the institution's emphasis on innovation, technology, and a humanistic approach that respected both students and patients.

In her practice at Dental Express, Dr. Le Murphey most enjoys the relationships she forms with her patients and colleagues. Reflecting on her career highlights, she counts her tenure with Dental Express as particularly significant because of the positive and supportive environment. Outside of the office, Dr. Le Murphey is committed to humanitarian efforts, and she volunteers to provide dental care to underserved populations.
