You can think of porcelain veneers as strong, protective helmets for your teeth.
Veneers are a quick and minimally invasive way to hide any chipped, stained, crooked, or decayed teeth. Dental veneers are created out of porcelain and attached to the front of your teeth to improve your smile’s overall look. At Dental Express, we provide custom veneers to improve the overall look of your teeth, from their size and shape to their color. Best Candidates to Get Porcelain Veneers
As with most cosmetic treatments, the right candidate has a healthy mouth.
Lingering issues like cracked teeth or tartar build-up should be dealt with before considering porcelain veneers San Diego.
If you struggle with bruxism (clenching or grinding your teeth), porcelain veneers might not be a good fit for you as they can chip or break.
Talk with your dentist about a nighttime dental guard if you grind your teeth while you sleep.
At Dental Express, we customize your porcelain teeth veneers to fit securely and blend in with your natural teeth for a seamless look. At your exam, we’ll sit down to discuss your goals and create a plan worth smiling about.
What to Expect
Porcelain veneers front tooth treatment usually takes place over two visits. The first visit is for taking dental impressions, and the second is for installing your veneers.
Once we take your impressions, we either send them to a dental lab to create your veneers, or we build them in house.
When your veneers are ready, we’ll set up your second appointment to complete the treatment. To prepare your tooth, we’ll file away some enamel to make room for your veneer and create a stronger bond, giving you a longer-lasting restoration. Once we’ve put your veneer in place, you can ask your dentist to adjust it however you like to ensure it fits comfortably.
Recovery
Porcelain veneer treatment doesn’t require any anesthetic, so you can continue with your day afterward.
Your teeth may be sensitive to hot and cold temperatures for a day or two, but aside from that, you shouldn’t experience any other symptoms.
When brushing and flossing at home, make sure to clean your porcelain veneers just like your natural teeth.
Although whiten porcelain veneers are more resistant to stains than your natural teeth, try to avoid coffee, tea, tobacco, and other substances that can cause discoloration.
Also, chewing on your fingernails, ice, hard candy, and other solid things can damage your veneers, so be mindful of what you put in your mouth.
Insurance Coverage
Since porcelain veneers are a cosmetic procedure, providers usually don’t cover them. Before and after your treatment, one of our financial planners will team up with you to fit your veneers into your budget as comfortably as possible. We accept many payment methods, including low-interest medical financing, and we’re willing to work with you to find the most affordable solution.
